The 1964 Shelby Cobra was the world’s first successful Anglo- American hybrid, combining the aggression of American engines with the nimbleness of a British body shape. The union was achieved when driver- turned-designer Carroll Shelby had the idea of placing the power of Ford’s short stroke V8 engine inside one of AC Cars lightweight chassis, with minimal alterations. The resulting 1964 Shelby Cobra took the world by surprise, moving quickly and cleanly in GT races and finishing first at the 1964 Le Mans.

Constructed of die-cast metal and high-impact plastic, these machines are not meant for kids. The 1:18 scale 1964 Shelby Cobra comes with doors that open, fully functioning steering, four wheel suspension, detailed chassis and separate exhaust system.

Today, only billionaires and celebrities can afford garages filled with cars as special as this. The 1964 Shelby Cobra would go for more millions at auction. But Stauer can put you behind these wheels for a fraction of a fraction of that price. Buckle up and enjoy the ride!
