1954 Ford Customline Tudor

The major news coming from Ford headquarters for its 1954 model year was the introduction of an overhead valve, Y-block V-8 engine which had been in the design process for six years.

All 1954 Fords received a totally new ball-joint based front suspension system. It made a big difference in handling over previous models. The ride was considered “excellent” for a low-priced car. It handled bumps, ruts and even railroad tracks with ease. It was the year of power options and the Ford Customline Tudor model offered many new options including power-lift windows, four-way power seats, power steering and power brakes.
